Pineapple Green Smoothie

I’ve been looking at smoothies to find a good, easy and tasty way to incorporate more vegetables in our diets at home, and although there are a couple regulars, and some that didn’t work out so well… the latest smoothie I tried was so good that I feel the world needs to know. It is so good that my 20-month toddler kept drinking it and that I am seriously considering turning it into popsicles for the summer. It has a bit of lemon and sweet fruit which makes it give you that tartness and sweetness that you would expect out of a good lemonade, but it has some spinach so that you feel good about drinking it! And with the exception of the tartness of the lemon, you cannot really pick up any of the other flavors by themselves as they balance each other out. Here is the recipe, I hope you give it a try!

Serves: 2 (40 ounces total)

  • 1.5 cups orange juice
  • 1.5 peeled bananas
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/4 of a lemon, peeled and without seeds
  • 1.5 cups frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 cup ice

Place all ingredients in your blender (liquid, then spinach, then solids, then frozen items – or according to your manufacturer instructions), blend and enjoy!

This recipe is great, thank you! I made it this weekend with a whole orange and all 3 of my kiddos liked it so much they wanted it again that evening! They loved calling it a Ninja smoothie since it’s green😜 Thank you!!
